Sealed Black

There are three kinds of people in this world. The first kind is those people who have realized that they have made a mistake and decides to come clean. The second kind is those people who realized that a mistake have been made but decided to continue on making MORE mistakes. The last kind would be those who does not even KNOW that they are in fact on a brink of disaster.

For all we know, we could fall into the first category but we just don't know it yet due to our slim confidence. Sometimes we are so indecisive that it takes some of us a while to decide whats good and whats not. Just like going into a local restaurant or even prior to that. The time taken to choose where to eat is a big hassle for some family especially those who have a lot of kids. These kids we plan to have could just be our friends who tells you where to go during the weekend and what plans they have. Its NOT what plans you have. Its like your just a tail and what makes up the whole you is your friends.

Once we realized we've made a mistake, we need to be stringent and positive towards our change. Otherwise, you will only last for a few weeks until you go back to your old habit. Care needs to be taken when going onto the good path. Coming clean is much more easier than going to an exam unprepared because if you're going for an exam, it could well be your last paper that you will need to get your degree/master/doctorate/ or whatever. If you failed, then you'd have to resit and that would mean another six months on a foreign soil.

Sometimes we think that trying to get back to you islamic roots is hard. Thats because we are so comfortable with the way we are, even though sometimes we feel that something is just "missing", we still go on with our common daily activities. Such as going out to movies, hanging out talking bout a friend's friend and things like that, what happened during the weekend and so on. Irnoically, people sitting down to discuss about the ummah or deepening our knowledge of our religion is found weird. It's like this, when the majority sees something thats good, its actually bad and vice versa. Make sense?

Which is much worse, the second type or the third? Perhaps, the third one is much worse. Someone who picks his/her nose in front of everybody but he/she doesnt think its a bad habit. Or on a more extreme examples, a foreigner who drives on a wrong lane but still able to smile to everyone. The prophet once said that everytime a sin is committed, a black dot is mark on the human's heart. This hadeeth is telling us that if we continue making sins, our heart will be covered with black spots, no unless we repent, the chances of us accepting the words of Allah and revitalizing our emaan is far stretched. Just like trying to dig a hole into the center of the eart. By the way, its not a mistake if its done twice. You're just fiddling with Allah. Repent & resent.
