When Bad Seen as Good

وَقَيَّضْنَا لَهُمْ قُرَنَاءَ فَزَيَّنُوا لَهُمْ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا خَاسِرِينَ

And We have assigned them (devils from jinns and humans) intimate companions (in this world), who have made fair-seeming to them, what was before them (evil deeds which they were doing in the present worldly life and disbelief in the Reckoning and the Resurrection) and what was behind them (denial of the matters in the coming life of the Hereafter as regards punishment or reward). And the Word (i.e. the torment) is justified against them as it was justified against those who were among the previous generations of jinn and men that had passed away before them. Indeed they (all) were the losers.

Without realizing, we sometimes spend most of our time hanging out with the wrong people which will eventually lead us to hellfire. There are two kinds of people in this world and they are those who follow the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and those who follow satan. Allah mentioned in the above verse that finding the right friends are important because friends will shape you, not only friend, but especially the right spouse *wink*. Try this one on for size, you, a non-smoker, have a “good” friend who smokes-a-lot. So, you would go around the city while he smokes, eat while he smokes or maybe sell cigarettes while he smokes. The exact smoke will get on your shirt and you will smell like a smoker even though you have never puffed any.

If you have procrastinators as friends, you will become like them, maybe not instantly but surely eventually. You will find that foot draggers can be seen everywhere especially teenagers and maybe youths. They tend to have this so called laid back cool attitude. You will realize that this bunch will have more or less the same outfit and hair styles. They are deeply influenced by the Western culture that they don’t realize they are being butchered alive by satan, both from jinns and humans. This friend will kept telling you how nice you look without your hijab, this friend will tell you that its pathetic not to have a boyfriend or a girlfriend, they will say that its not hip not to drink alcohol, its boring if you don’ t have causal sex or not “cool” to be a virgin and they’d say being a muslim is just too stringent. You can’t do this and you can’t do that, you can shake hands with a stranger, you can’t show your hair to a non-muhrim (those who you can marry) and you can’t marry a person who has the same reproductive organs.

The things mentioned above are the confirmed list of things you might have encountered. This is seen normal when we live in a society who doesn’t see islam as syumul (everything). The Qur’an is only used for decoration purposes only and good for household items. Prophet Muhammad is seen as someone who had lived in the past, nothing more nothing less. So far, satan has kept his promise to Allah and that he will continue to make each and everyone of us see bad things as good until Resurrection Day..

وَمَن يَعْشُ عَن ذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَـنِ نُقَيِّضْ لَهُ شَيْطَاناً فَهُوَ لَهُ قَرِينٌ - وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ

And whosoever turns away blindly from the remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint for him a Shaytan to be a companion for him. And verily, they hinder them from the path, but they think that they are guided aright!)
