From a leader to a peasant

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful

Do you remember when life was so simple and permanent? Everything was less, everything was simple, everyone was trustworthy and everyone had less to complain about. I hear that people could just leave their cars running without being paranoid. They could also leave their house doors open (literally speaking) without worrying if someone would creep during daylight and steal belongings. Its all too different now. Things are complex, things are nerve-splitting and its never-ending. Just like Harry Potter and lord of the rings.*smirks*. Nonetheless, it was quite quiet back then and much more peaceful; less traffic, less night bugs, less pollution and less money to spend. Huh?

Would you say that people who have enough money to get through the day is much happier than those who have extra? Its not just money, it’s the wealth they have. Our society NOW has perceived wealth as having bags of cash, big houses, condominiums, 3 mobile phones, sport cars and wearing fancy attires and accessories. Perhaps, it is how we have been made to believe since we are all brought up in a century where everything must be in tip-top condition. Meaning, if your not playing your parts right, then, you will probably be left out, shivering and feeling alone. Pathetic it may seem...the majority of us have the tendency to fly away from our nest especially those who has and had the opportunity to study abroad. Some choose to pursue a career in medicine, engineering, law, and business, automotive and so on and so forth. The pattern is pretty apparent. We are all sucked in into this blurry path aimed to pursue finite happiness. Sounds like a perfect world. A dog eat dog world made up of interest (usury) as medicine and the 7 deadly sins as the ‘antiseptic’ wash. This place we love so much of would be tarnished as it already has and WILL get worse if we stay idle.

Why Islam is the Greatest and the only one true religion well-pleased by Allah?

“...This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion...” [Al-Maidah: 3]

“The religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will): nor did the people of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account.” [Al-‘Imran: 19]

This world is getting old as the rate as we know is getting faster by each second; icebergs on the North Pole are melting as we breath; forests are sliced flat; the inactive quiet mountains are giving a little gist of the real blast; garbage cans are not being properly utilized; & worse of all, time is not being fully used. What was the cause & effect? Although there have been no survey or test being conducted for this article but we think that the overlaying problem mentioned above is caused by lack of knowledge. It has been proven in history that for humans to act beyond its capability and in such humility. This is caused by the latter mentioned. Idiotic really! We have been in many situations where we acted beyond the normal prescribed norms. As a normal human being, we are naturally susceptible to, to name a few, sudden burst; jealousy; & hopelessness. But that does not give us the excuse to act the way we do. The more we acquire knowledge the more calm we are and the more calm we become, we are then have less issues to worry about. In relation to Islam, as a Moslem not just by name, we are required to study as hard as we can accord to one’s will and capability. We are all capable really.

There is a notion that exists in our community where when a person reaches his/her 50 or 55, there is no need for these ‘seniors’ to learn further. In fact, this habit has penetrated into the minds of those who aged above 45. This is very misleading in an Islamic viewpoint and has been proven contagious. It’s a wonderful idea that people are being trained, attending seminars, sitting for pre-requisite tests but would they really practice what they will learn/have learn/learned. Computer development we think is the turning point of this article. How many times have you heard ‘senior’ people are more reluctant to use computers / laptops during work? VS How many times have you heard that young people are reluctant to use computers? How old do you think those people who sit in a WiFi coffee shops or food courts that uses their laptop? We are positive that if a study was conducted, we would roughly estimate that about 99.1% of those who uses computers or laptops are youths ranging from 19 to 35 of age. We can conclude that senior people are used to using typewriters and the conservative PP (papers & pencil) to do their work as they would see this as “good enough” practice...
