Stop Cutting! - Lengthen Your Beard

The society we live in today has had a great impact not only on Muslims but on many other religious people too. This is to such an extent that people are often ready to criticise an injunction of their faith merely because it does not comply with ways, fads or modes of today’s society.

Is this what we call faith?

All religious scholars are unanimous that that all ProphetsAllah's peace and blessings be upon them kept beards. Furthermore, the Prophets have classified the beard as something (that is) part of nature (Fitrah). ‘Allamah Suyuti explains human nature is based on keeping a beard and does not need a special order to be part of a particular faith. Thus, the beard is part of human nature to which all humans (men) have to adhere.

The Prophet of Allah May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him mentions in a Hadeeth 10 points of nature. Out of these ten, he May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him mentions is the lengthening of the beard. Allah the Almighty narrates the incident when Sayyiduna Harun Alaihissalam calls out to his brother Sayyiduna Musa Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, “O son of my mother! Do not seize (me) by my beard, and nor by my head.” (94:20)

This verse clearly shows that Prophet Harun Allah's peace and blessings be upon him had a lengthy beard.

The first nation ever to shave their beards was the nation to whom Allah the Almighty sent Sayyiduna Lut Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, the people of Sadoom ( Sodom). Hadhrat Hasan Basri reports a Hadeeth that the nation of Lut was punished for 10 sins they committed; the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him mentioned ‘trimming the beard’ from the 10 sins. These sins then resulted in severe punishments from Allah the Almighty as mentioned in the Holy Quran in numerous chapters. Gradually other nations also started to trim and shave their beards but were less in number. However in the 17th century, the King of Russia, Patrice propagated ‘shaving of the beard’ in Europe and was successful in his mission. In the 20th century, the Ottoman Empire collapsed and modern influences swamped nations. By the mid 20th century, these influences had penetrated the Muslim world, which has gradually resulted on corrupting Muslims. Today, this is the reason why we see that most Muslims unfortunately either trim their beard or shave it off.

We have to remember that cultures change day in day out, cultures are man made; hung on man’s ideologies, perceptions and ideas. On the other hand, the Shariah, the Islamic holy divine law is from Allah the creator of all, who is the best of all planners. The Shariah is such that it is compatible to every era till the day of judgement.

In the Shariah (Islamic law), it is Haram (unlawful) for men to shave the beard, this ruling is with the Ijma (consensus) of the scholars of all the Schools of Thought. Among the scholars who have attested to this consensus, include Allamah Mahmood Khattab 6, Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri Hanafi, Allamah Muhammad Ashraf Ali Thanwi, Allamah Hasfaki, Allamah Kamal Ibn Al-Humam Hanafi, Sheikh Ahmad Nafrawi Maliki, Allamah Abu Muhammad Ibn Hazm Zahiri, Allaamah Shaykh ul islaam Ibn Tayimyyah, and many other scholars.

Various present day scholars have misunderstood from what some Shafiee scholars have stated that to shave the beard is Makrooh (disliked). This has been mentioned by Imam Nawawi, Rafi’ee. Allamah Abbadi states, Allamah Ibn Rif’aah refutes this, as Imam Shafiee has mentioned in his famous work Kitab Al-umm, which is thought to be one of his final works: “to shave the beard is Haram.”

This has also been mentioned by Allamah Haleemi, Allamah Qaffal Shashi, Allamah Azrai and many other Shafiee scholars.

There are many Ahadeeth, which clearly state the above. Primarily the famous Hadeeth narrated on the authority of ‘Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar and others that the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him ordered us to lengthen our beards. This Hadeeth has been narrated with six different words, all of which refer to lengthening the beard and leaving it alone without interfering. This is why in the Shariah (Islamic law) if one was to shave the beard or trim it to less than a fist length then he will be sinful. Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri writes,“None of the scholars have permitted trimming the beard to less than a fist length.” Various other scholars such as Allamah Hasfaki, Allamah Ashraf Ali Thanwi and Mufti Rasheed Ahmad have mentioned similar to this.

The Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him’s beard was dense, and would cover his chest. The Sahaba May Allah be pleased with them realised, by the movement of he May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him’s beard, that the prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him would recite from the Holy Quran in Zuhr and Asr; clearly indicating that the beard was lengthy. In the same manner Hadhrat Abu bakr May Allah be pleased with him and Umar May Allah be pleased with him possessed a dense beard. Hadhrat Uthman May Allah be pleased with him possessed a fine beard stretched out in length where as Hadhrat Ali’May Allah be pleased with hims beard was spread in width covering the area between his shoulders. Therefore, when the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him ordered us to legthen our beards we have to follow his and his Sahaba’s Sunnah and their method of keeping a beard. The Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him says, “Hold fast unto my ways and the ways of the guided caliphs after me.”

Hadhrat Molana Hussein Ahmad Madni writes, “It is clearly narrated from Hadhrat Umar May Allah be pleased with him, Ammar Ibn Yasir May Allah be pleased with him, Abdullah Ibn Umar May Allah be pleased with him and Jabir May Allah be pleased with him that their beards were more than a fist length, and they would order the Muslims to do the same.” Hadhrat Sheikh Moulana Muhammad Zakaria writes, “It has not been narrated from any of the Sahabah that they trimmed their beards to less than a fist”. When Abdullah Ibn Umar May Allah be pleased with him would perform Hajj or Umrah, he would hold on to his beard with his fist and trim the remaining. In reality, we have explicitly been ordered to increase and lengthen our beards without any interference whatsoever, but as Abdullah Ibn Umar May Allah be pleased with him and other Sahaba would often trim their beards up to a fist length, the scholars have given permission to do this.

In the eighth year of Hijri, the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him sent a letter with Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Huthafah to Feroz, the king of Persia. Feroz tore the letter apart and ordered Bazan, the king of Yemen to send two officers to the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him to kidnap him. They arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, on seeing the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, started to shiver. However the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him asked them, “Who ordered you to leave your moustache and shave your beard?” They replied, “Our Lord” (referring to their King). The Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him declared, “But my Lord orders me to trim the moustache and lengthen the beard”. Those who shave their beards should decide for themselves whether their Lord is Allah or someone else! Just imagine how much pain the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him must be going through due to all of those people who shave, as these two men were fire worshippers, but never the less, the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him could not bear to look at their faces.

Some people have a misconception that lengthening the beard is unattractive. This view is seriously flawed as the Prophets especially Sayyiduna Muhammad May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him possessed great beauty as Allah the almighty chooses those who are perfect in character and creation. It is reported in a narration, “Allah the Almighty sent each and every Prophet with a beautiful face and a melodious voice.” Many Sahaba relate that the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him possessed the most beautiful face.

Allah the most wise has distinguished between men and women just as he has distinguished between the male and female animals; and the distinguishing feature in itself holds great beauty. Allah the almighty mentions some of his bounties he has bestowed upon Mankind, he says “He (Allah) fashioned you and perfected your shapes.” (64:40) Some scholars narrate a weak narration “Glory to the one who beautified the men with beards and the women with plaits”. Allamah IbnAl-Qayyim explains, “The beard has many benefits, such as beauty and dignity.”

In many Ahadeeth, the prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him has cursed men who imitate women and those women who imitate men. There is no doubt that shaving the beard is a clear imitation of a woman’s face.

Many scholars have stated that shaving the beard is Tagyeeru Khalqillah (changing the creation of Allah). Allah mentions in the Holy Quran the promise of Satan, “Indeed I will order them (Mankind) to change the nature created by Allah” (4:119). In effect, the one who shaves his beard is obeying Satan. The great Caliph Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz would say, “Shaving the beard is Muthlah (mutilation). Verily the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him has prohibited Muthlah”. A similar verdict has also been narrated from the great Imam of Madina Munawwarah, Imam Malik.

The sin of shaving the beard is not only a Kabirah (Major) sin, but it is also Bagawah (open offence). The prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him says, “My nation will be forgiven except those who sin in the night and then boast about their sin the following day.” Although one may not boast about this sin verbally but indirectly, he will boast by showing his face to the people. Some sins are limited to the time of the act or omission, for example, Zina (adultery & fornication) is a grave sin; the sinner is sinning for the duration of that act. Whereas this sin’s time remains for as long as the beard remains shaven or trimmed to less than a fist’s length. The person will be regarded a sinner for every second his face is devoid of a proper beard, therefore sinning for that entire time span. this means it's severity aggregates and persists more than other sins.

In the aftermath of the Tsunami disaster, many Muslims attained the status of Shahadah (Martyrdom). Due to the excess amount of bodies it was difficult to identify each individual. Regarding Salat Ul-Janazah the problem arose that how will we be able to differentiate between a Muslim and non-Muslim? Finally, it was decided that the prayer would be lead upon those deceased who possessed beards. People in the world have hopes that people will benefit them after their death, by performing Salat Al-Janazah and carrying out other deeds. However, in a situation like this, would this be possible?

Similarly in the grave when the deceased is asked, one of the questions is, “What would you say about this person? (Referring to the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) Some scholars are to the opinion that the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him will be present in front of the deceased! How do you think the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him will react when he sees a person who has shaved his beard?

Furthermore, on the day of judgement when the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him will intercede for the Ummah and quench the thirst of the Ummah at the Hawdh of Kauthar, the angels will stop some of the people. The Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him will say that these people are from my Ummah (nation); thus let them proceed. The angels will reply, “You do not know what innovations they invented after you”. The Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him will reply “Destruction for those who innovated after me”. A point to ponder upon is that the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him will not recognise these innovators because they will possess beards and their outer Islamic appearance, so what about those who do not possess beards. The Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him will not need to be informed that these were innovators, as he mentions in another Hadeeth that the deceased will be resurrected in the condition he died in. The Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him will not even look at these people just as this would hurt the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. The Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him says, “Whoever so hurts me, displeases Allah. And who ever displeases Allah, is likely to be punished.”

People claim to love the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him but still do not keep a beard. What kind of love is this? There was once a poet in the city of Delhi , Mirza Qateel, famous for praising the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. An Iranian citizen decided to visit this poet assuming that he was a great pious scholar. On arriving in Delhi, he was informed that this poet has gone to the barbers. He proceeds towards the barbers and what does he see? The poet is having his beard shaved. He cries out “’O’ the one who claims to love the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, you are shaving your beard!” The poet replies “yes, but I am not hurting anyone’s feelings”, they continued their debate. Finally, the Iranian exclaimed, “you claim that you are not hurting anyone’s feelings, I warn you that you are hurting the feelings of the one who is the leader in this world and the hereafter, the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him”. On hearing this remark, he fainted, when he regained consciousness he accepted and admitted his mistake, repented to Allah, The most forgiving and thanked the Iranian for guiding him.

In reality when a person loves someone, he will fulfil every command of his. We cannot see the love a person possesses in his heart for someone except by his actions. We have been guided to judge people according to their apparent and visible actions. The Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him has repeatedly said, “I have not been ordered to cut open the hearts of people.” (to see their intention) When a disbeliever recites the Shahadah, he will be classified as a Muslim, despite of what his beliefs are in reality. Thus if a person shaves his beard it cannot be judged that he loves the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. Nowadays we see the love people possess for celebrities and football players, which is evident; people are ready to dress the way they dress, live the way they live; emulating them in every way possible, so why is it that people are not ready to accept the Sunnah of the Prophet May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him?

Unfortunately, many Muslims nowadays mock and joke about the beard. If someone has a beard, he is labelled a ‘beast’. To make a mockery of any minor order of the Shariah is KUFR without any doubt; the same applies to undermining a sin. The great Muhaddith Allamah Ahmad Ibn Muhammad Ibn Siddiq Al-Gimari says, “To mock the beard is KUFR with the consensus of all the Muslims”. The consequences of this would be that the Nikah (Marriage) would invalidate and renewing the Imaan (faith) will be necessary.

Nasib seorang kafir (sambungan)

Lalu ditanya: Apakah agamamu?

Lalu dia bertanya: Siapakah kau?
Jawabnya: AKU AMALANMY YANG JELEK.
Lalu dia berkata: YA TUHAN JANGAN SEGEREKAN HARI KIAMAT, YA TUHAN JANGAN SEGERAKAN HARI KIAMAT..

Maka dijawab: Allah Tuhanku

Lalu ditanya: Apakah agamamu?

Dijawab: Agamaku Islam.

Dijawab: Dia utusan Allah.

Lalu ditanya: Siapakah engkau?

1. Kereta dikembalikan dalam keadaan yang sama (sempurna);
2. Tangki minyak hendaklah penuh;
3. Kereta tidak boleh dibawa untuk berlomba haram (racing);
4. Jika mengalami kemalangan, penyewa hendaklah membayar penuh ganti rugi yang dialami bagi kereta;
5. Kereta tidak boleh ditambah barang2 tambahan (accessories);

Jadi, tangan yang dipinjamkan oleh Allah mempunyai garispandu dan polisi yang lengkap untuk kita ikuti dan kita patuhi. Kita boleh mengambil sebahagian daripada peraturan di atas tadi sebagai contoh;

1. Tangan dikembalikan dalam keadaan yang sempurna. Iaitu, kita hendaklah menjaga tangan kita daripada menjebakkannya ke dalam menyentuh perkara2 yang haram, membuat perkara2 yang haram dan membantu orang lain untuk membuat kejahatan. Kita juga perlu memastikan tangan kita dibasuh lima kali sehari (wudhu) agar tangan kita senantiasa berada dalam keadaan yang suci;
2. Kita hendaklah memastikan yang kita tidak berbuat aniaya kepada tangan kita seperti memotong salah satu jari ataupun tidak memberikan benda2 atau cairan2 yang boleh merosakkan tangan kita seperti asid;
3. Membayar ganti rugi disini bermaksud, jika kita sudah melakukan banyak perkara maksiat dengan tangan kita dan tidak bertaubat, kita akan menerima denda yang sangat pedih dan tidak tergambar sakitnya, iaitu neraka;
4. Menambah.

Gadis melampau menerima padah

Sepuluh minit kemudian bas pun tiba perhentian.

Pabila anda enggan melaksanakan suruhan Tuhan bererti anda ingin melawan arahan Tuhan.

Sluggish Connection

Allah made many comparisons between humans and animals in the Qur’an. The All-Mighty said humans if they do not behave according to the policies made by Him, our rank can go lower than animals or even worse than animals.

We need to understand we are of His best creation of ALL of his creations. We are equipped with a brain which enables us to think. We think about different sorts of things all the time. We think about where should we eat for lunch; what kind of cap and what the color should you buy for your spouse; what time should you sleep tonight; will it be enough; will it be too early; what time should I leave the house; will the traffic be worse tomorrow; all sorts of questions and all sorts of doubts. And this is something that animals and insects don’t possess.

Ever wonder why they have mouse traps installed? Ever wonder why there are fresh dead cats on the road? And ever wonder why animals are doing it in public and why married couples do it behind locked doors? It’s because, animals cannot think but humans can. If mice have had brains, we can never outsmart them, not unless we try very hard. Unfortunately, most of us are too lazy to even brush their teeth before solah.

It would be a very scary situation if animals did have brains. Not so long ago, people in the west produced a movie entitled “planet of the apes”. I have never actually watched it but I’m sure it turned out great! I think the movie was about the devious plan set up by monkeys to take over the world and that humans will be their slaves. Sounds like that brilliant cartoon called “pinky and the brain”.

Cats, they are so curious to know what’s on the other side of the road that they just jumped into the thick traffic at broad daylight without looking left or right that they don’t even know what hit them. That’s what I called curiosity killed the cat. On the contrary, when we were kids, we were told by our parents and our teachers to always look left or right before crossing the road.

We can understand now that humans can think and won’t act foolish, like jumping off a bridge or doing drugs or openly accepts an invitation for a porn audition. That’s why you won’t be able to see “live shows” in public because every single human instinctively knows that its just not humane to do it in public except in a country that sees strip clubs as entertainment. And that’s why you won’t find any pornography on the Internet. Huh!?

That is exactly the point, humans CAN go lower than animals, they even had cameras, webcam and all sorts of imaging devices set up to record and celebrate their sincere (illegal) love to one another, paid or not paid. Just imagine a couple of years down the road; you would see countless single mothers bearing 2 to 4 children without a proper father. Without a stable job, how can this mother support her children? These unfortunate children will then be left hungry, confused, angry and feeling all sorts of emotions. In Indonesia, most of these children became prostitutes just because of the mother’s uncalled for mistakes. Not because they want to but because they have to get the day by. Whose fault is it?

Are we influenced by animals? ANIMALS!! What do they know, they can have all fun they want because they have no ability to think BUT they do have a motherly instinct. So does humans. If humans didn’t have motherly instinct, we would see child being thrown in disposal areas, buried alive and suffocated. Hang on!? Something is wrong about this post. Are animals better than humans? Because so far, animals sounded more thoughtful when compared to humans. No offence to animals. JUST in case they HAVE the ability to READ since obviously they ARE much more mindful than humans.

Are humans forming into some sort of “manimals”? Are we descending in that order? Are will really lower than animals? There are a couple of ways to find out and they are as below (not in any particular order):

1) You think that watching pornography is normal;
2) You think that gossiping is fun;
3) You think wearing revealing clothes are sexy;
4) You think not performing solah on time is not a sin;
5) You are cool with looking at other people’s aurat;
6) You think that kissing is second base (not married);
7) You think Palestinians are terrorists;
8) You think Qur’an is only for decoration;
9) You think that having intercourse from behind is halal;
10) You think that drinking alcohol beverages are is ok, just as long as, noone watching;
11) You see nothing wrong with killing a child;
12) You see nothing wrong with having a scandal;
13) You see saying nasty words are cool;
14) You think having “accidents” are normal;
15) You see nothing wrong with exchanging handshakes with the opposite sex (besides your family members);

Are humans not thinking enough? Is our brain not functioning as it should? When did we suddenly decide to become retards? Is time moving too fast for us or we’re just moving too slow? Do you feel like you are always running out of time? Do you feel like you are in a different time zone? Do you think you are going crazy? One thing is certain, muslims all over the world are labeled “lazy” by other religions (Islam is the only religion there is).

How can they say such false claim? We read the Qur’an, pray 5 times a day, wake up while everybody’s asleep for tahajjud, we practice what’s in the Qur’an, we show good examples to others, we help the poor, we give a hand to the needy, we invent wanted super cars which are exported all over the globe and replaced intel created by Zionist, we tell our family to do good, we don’t let our daughters go out with strangers, we smile at our neighbors, we don’t support public entertainment or contents, if it’s time to pray, its time to pray, we don’t waste time, we don’t try to magnifies other’s flaws, we never question the policies of Allah..? Didn’t we do all these? Do they have evidence?

If we did, then, why do certain people or body say awful things about muslims? Muslims top clerics even! Maybe, its time to reflect back how we were, how we are now and how we imagine ourselves will be in the future. Its important because, muslims all over the world needs to be brainwashed, needs to be aware of the threats that we are facing now. If we continue to behave like this, I fear that the future of our children, their children, their children’s children will be bleek. Who knows if we even make onto the next phase. But Allah does.

Ni'mat Tuhan (Mata)

Ketahuilah bahawa sesungguhnya, Allah Maha Melihat keadaan hamba2-Nya.

Hehe...i think you're funny

Just A Thought (Part 8)

i also thought maybe, negative habits kept him extra slow and steady. Since primary one, i would be told what to do and was never asked to do more. All the teachers at school were kind enough to ask i and his classmates to copy what was on the dark greenboard and finish as soon as possible. They all would listen quietly when it was time for story telling session and some would just do crazy gymnastic tricks even before it starts. Red riding hood, robin hood and the rabbit and the turtle were some of the titles i could remember. It was the perfect setup for sleeping session for some.

In school, i was taught the history of how a nation and other nations gained their independence and how outstanding warriors drove out the transgressors out from their land. It was interesting because, if it wasn't for the effort by the great ancestors, i won't probably be sitting in the livingroom, breathing and drinking cold coco. i was beginning to think that the westernization as well as colonization by the different powers shaped him. Each colonization left each the nation with something to remember them by. Religion, education, military, trade, economy, technology were all affected. i never thought that colonization would effect his mind. At first, i thought that colonization was all about getting piece of the action (land) and trying to take charge of everything, EVERYTHING.

Its like they knew that they have done their part in that country and would just stop it with by signing a treaty. But so little i and everyone knew what strategy they had cooked up even before they even begin to make their way to the nation. It was a cunning plan. It seemed as if they had left the area where they terrorized for good but we forgot one thing. During their stay, they managed to pull some of the key players and pursuaded them to wear shorts (for men) and skirts (for women), let females lose their veil, let them eat what has been forbidden so on and so forth. To some who had lacked islamic values could just easily saw this as a sweet gesture since the troops made them looked more "fashionable", "up-to-date" and more "fashion driven". Its like they managed to infiltrate to the local's minds. They were the so-called baby boomers of that time shaped the nation where i live in now.

The rest who were just normal citizens would just take everything in. Meaning, most of them see this as an opportunity to improve their life, status and name. A better standard of living. From that day onwards, i and the rest would just be fed with facts and information we all become fond of and we all speak so much of without knowing the negativites it brings to the nation's development of its blind folded resources. i was one of the many victims of spoon feeding and a mere victim of colonization.

Fear Allah...

Based from the mini survey conducted for almost two weeks, we all had instinctively feared Allah and not satan. Sure...why not? We are ALL God-fearing and we know the consequences of betraying Him. We all (muslims or non-muslims) know that Allah can destroy us in split seconds or snatch away our belongings and pride we hold so close to our chest. He is able to replace us with another group which will be more pious than us, more giving, caring and helpful towards one another. [47:38].

If this data WAS to represent the whole nation, that would mean, every muslim men and women would pray on time, they would cover their body accordingly, they would be cautious when eating out, they wouldn't gossip at all, they wont show how smooth and silky their hair looks or show how tone their skin is to others except to those who is halal, they wouldn't laugh as hard, all would be humble, help those who are poor and most of all, not only they stay away from what has been forbidden and do good deeds but they would also ask others to do good and ask them not to do sinful activites.

All praise only to Allah, if it wasn't for his supreme character, we probably won't even know what the result of this poll. What's that now? Notice how all of us say we fear Allah most (based from the above result) but we still wait until the last minute to perform solah, we still eat at doubtful restaurants, we still show ponytails when wearing hijab (for women) and women still wear outfits which reveals their body shapes and men still wear shorts (above knee), mini shorts anyone? We still watch porn (when you know Allah is watching), we still hold hands in the public (not in MARRIAGE), and we still talk about how bad our bosses are and how annoying our teachers were / are, we still haven't helped those who are in need, those who are poor and those who are hungry. Worse of all, we'd be spooked out if someone said there was a ghost sitting behind you, hiding under your bed or inside the cupboard. Correct me if i'm wrong. Please.

It's NEVER too late too repent and cry for our past mistakes as Allah is The Most Patient (As-Sabur) as well as The Most Forgiving (Al-Ghafur), He let us go on with our lies, not life. In fact, He still let us roam this world freely and let us enjoy and reap a little fraction of this meaningless worldly life. A world which fooled many, a world which will only be realized temporary when we scream our lungs out in agony in our burial ground. Insya Allah.

Just A Thought (Part 7)

i thought that nobody seemed to be really bothered to find out why they were a muslim. Maybe, everyone just assumed that islam was JUST a religion, just like other beliefs such as chritianity, hinduism and so on. And it was only for spiritual purposes, not for anything else. Islam was not about business (in practice), it was not about the economy, it was not about the people, corporate governance and it was not about self-growth and self-worth. Islam in the past was more about individualism, i thought.

There would be occassional Qur'an classes during fridays and sundays. There would be tahlil every now and then, recital of Surah Yaseen during friday nights and the gatherings of all sorts to remind of the death of the deceased in the family which was annually done. There was a time when i was sitting in one of the ceremony and wondered why i was there. Sure, i could see the closeness amongst the family and the bond fostered but i could not hear any conversation directing towards the Prophet or about how to become a better a muslim or how to develop a technology wanted by all that only a muslim can produce. They would talk about where they children was schooling, how their business were running or how their bosses were treating them.

i was no different, he would talk about the flintstones, smurfs, toys, The A Team, spiderman, incidents which happened at school and so on. Logically speaking, this was the norm and was widely recognized. There could be many factors that added to the growth and development both for its people and the nations itself. Everything was sluggish. i never realized the impact colonization had made to the future of the nation. It left i and every single men and women in the nation dead in a sense that they all inherited, not wealth, but social-economic issues that made how are things today.

Guide To "Road To Deen" (will be up soon, insya Allah)

Road to Deen...

Its not just another comic strip but it is a book which will show sketches of daily activities or situations of an average muslim and maybe non-muslim boy or girl in their quest to pure betterness.

Maybe, there will be readers who will be a little baffled as to which direction the book should be read. That is why I have provided this guide below. Allah is the Best Guide there is and there will ever be.

Just A Thought (Part 6)

I WONDERED A LOT. i sometimes wondered why he was alive, why the world was round and why was he able to wonder, even!. i often looked at how insects such as ants, bees, grasshoppers move. i thought it was interesting how ants managed to carry food (crumbs) 10 times bigger than their body size, how grasshoppers can hop in such dexterity & how unneeded things are findable and how they suddenly vanished when needed.

Speaking of “acts of disappearance”, i enjoyed playing hide and seek with his siblings, his friends and his cousins, especially. During school holidays, they would do sleepovers at their grandparent’s house or anyone of the relative’s house. It was interestingly fun how the game was conducted. They would go silently crazy when playing this game. The only thing that scared i was the spooky tale about how kids who actually disappeared during playing hide & seek. i didn’t even know if the story was authentic or not. Nonetheless, that really didn’t stop from hiding in closets, in cupboards, behind curtains, under sofas, behind doors and any locations that looked unsearchable. Those who were able to hide without being caught would reveal themselves only when the “searcher” just gave up wholly or when the “searcher” caught them soft giggling until they burst out to laughter.

After a period of hide & seek, i eventually stopped playing. This was after a tragic incident that left me torn. i really didn’t know what really happened but i knew it bothered him and on and off flashbacks just seemed surreal. i remembered being questioned with a lot of questions. That day changed him because it was a turning point of i’s life. From that day onwards, i became more cautious than before. It took him quite a while to pass over that tragedy. i started wondering more and more.

i had so many questions left unanswered, left so may puzzles ruined and left himself unexplained. He began questioning about why certain things happened. Why things or events, even though seemed dreadful / melancholy happen. Most importantly, i often wondered why he IS a muslim…

Just A Thought (Part 5)

..and still no feedback. i really didn't know the real purpose of having that progress book during RS. Maybe it was created for the sake of doing it and having no purpose at all. Just like having a batallion of police but still you don't see them anywhere except a few..very few.The only time you see them during big celebrations and such. Let's just leave it there, shall we?
On the other side of the page, i wasn't really keen in sports but i was quite an active person, he would do run, jump and hide. He would play football with one of his neighbours. Literally speaking. i was quite lucky because he had a professional footballer as a neighbour. So, i would just see him level the ball with his feet. i thought that that was rather spectacular how he was able to run back and forth and still managed to keep the ball alive.

i would also play marbles, kite-flying, riding bicycles, go swimming and experince other exciting activites with his bestfriends. They would play marbles everywhere; inside the classrooms, on sand, on grass, on the concrete, everywhere. It was all about who had the most marbles and who had the skills to aim, hit and take.

During those times spent with his bestfriends, i noticed one thing..i noticed that he had no friends who were interested in islam per se. Not that they were not muslims..they were but none of them had exhibited i how to be a outstanding muslim. Most of them were typical. Typical in a sense that everything was the same. Everyone had the same shorts on, everyone had the same t-shirts on and everyone had their minds set to gear S (stagnant)...

Terrorists beware!

Do you believe all the news and stories you read / saw on the internet / newspapers or any “official” news channels are true? Would it be an overstatement to say that news aired on television and printed out on morning papers are LIES?

Do you believe that if one movement, body or a nation controls the media i.e. television, newspapers, radios and such have the power to control how stories are depicted / written / broadcasted? Has it ever occur to you that maybe…just maybe; the everyday stories are twisted facts and information which are being transmitted through out the world are wrong?

Ironically, when was the last time you question the practicality of Islam? When was the last time you argued about the laws and principles of Islam? Worse, when was the last time you DOUBT the words of ALLAH (The Qur’an) as well as the teachings brought by Prophet Muhammad?!! Recent maybe…

Do you know who control almost 100% of the media in the West, or even in the EU? Have you ever heard of Zionism? Do you know who are Jewish? Do you know anything about what is REALLY happening to Palestinians in the tiny strip of land called Gaza strip. Palestinians are clinging for their lives just to get the day by, without food or water, without shelter and power (electricity). Young children awaits for the life to be taken as you read this…, elders wait for their turn to be shot dead using rockets by Israel militants. Palestinians have become strangers in their own land.

WHO DO YOU THINK is THE REAL TERRORIST HERE?!!

A) Israelis. Hotels and houses, oversupply of food and drinks, entertainment, prostitutes, bars, alcohol, weapons & so on.
B) Palestinians. Terrorized home. No electiricty, no food or water, dusts, sky as roof and soil ground as floors, pebbles / stones as weapons of choice.

Just A Thought (Part 4)

On the contradictory, attending RS wasn't all that bad. When there's bad, there must be good. We wouldn't know the meaning of hungry, if we were full all the time. Thin or fat so on and so forth. RS taught i the basics of becoming a muslim. They would teach i how to perform solah, how to read the Qur'an with proper tajweed, how to transact with buying and selling and how to divide wealth amongst the living of one's death according to Islam and how important it is to write a will.

i remembered during RS where each and every one of us would be given a book progress which had tiny cells. The top row of the book would be The five daily prayer including Juma'at prayer and the right column would be the days for that particular month. The task was simple. All we need to do is fill in each cells with the prescribed tickmarks as above.

Like everyting else, tickmarks had its meaning and these ticks were no exception. The first tick indicated that you have performed solat on time. Tick X is an indication of performing solah OUTSIDE its allocated time and tick O would mean not performing solat at all. So, at the end of a week, this book was supposedly checked and signed by a teacher. And by the end of the month, all must filled in each boxes by hook or by crook. Like everyone else, somehow, i wasn't able to achieve this and had to find other means to resolve this issue. Therefore, i would just fill in every single space according to his "instincts" whether its correct or false.

It really didn't matter to him or i's friends if the data they submitted to the teacher was correct or not because the teachers weren't that rigorous themselves and they never actually given us any feedback..any feedback at all...

Just A Thought (Part 3)

Like any other muslims, i also attended religious classes held in the morning. i didn't quite like religious classes due to several factors which i will explain in a bit. i would switch schools every now and then due to different placements given to i's father. i finally sticked to one religious school during his final 2 years. That was a relief because i didn't like moving around cause it affected his friends and moving onto another school equals...

Induction ----> Awkwardness ----> Assimilation ----> Acceptance or Rejection

For i, religious school (RS) had no aim and no purpose (during) because i "thought" that in the end of the day, after you've completed the 6 years, the certificate has no meaning and would not bring him anywhere in this world. Thats two reasons why i didn't like religious school. The other reason would be, the characters of the teachers who taught i and his fellow mates during RS weren't that keen either. Most of them would just read out off the syllabus given.

NOTHING was exciting and nothing that made us wanted to be eager to attend class every school days except for chatting, fooling around during solat and the 50 cents rice packet. Until this day i never had actually taken his offical transcript...

Just A Thought (Part 2)

Normally, i would spend most of his time in front of the television because back then there weren't much to entertain yourself with except for THAT, playing football, throwing marbles & kite flying. The activities are mostly outdoor. Although, i never actually made it through his art classes but i was quite good with drawing / painting pictures and coloring. i was quite a quiet person in some sense...

i was a happy child with little care about what is going around himself and his surounding. Let alone, what is going on around the world. i would try to climb up a tree once in a while and had difficulties climbing down. i would pick out fruits off a tree and just enjoy the time as much as he can. He really didn't know what he was doing. His objective, purpose & goal weren't so clear.

i was all about fun, fun and more fun. His duties and obligations towards Allah wasn't that consistent because i really didn't know how important it was to perform the daily prayers. Besides, i could not recall any memory of him being "smacked" for not praying when he was 10 years old..

Just A Thought (Part 1)

i was like being struck by a lighting. i was sure so sure that what i was doing the right thing because i thought that i was showing a good example to others and yet something just did not feel right. Was Allah trying to tell i something...? Something that i should have realized a long time ago...That's when this "thought" came.

As a normal child growing up in a big family and being surrounded with friends who were normal and a family who withheld tradition strong, it was typical to have certain things which we think looked "acceptable" in that surrounding. So, it was normal to see single relatives bring along their "special ones" to social gatherings. Often, i would be asked by normal uncles or aunties whether i had a special one or not. Not only by them but also by i's cousins and friends.

Television also played its role. There would be movies, dramas, cartoons & adverts which contributed to i's development. i was seeing and believing. This was the situation.

Saying Goodbyes...

What is Halal is clear and what is Haram is clear. Midway between them are things which people do not know whether they are Halal or Haram. He who keeps away from them will protect his religion and will be saved. He who aproaches them is very near to Haram, like a shepherd wandering his flock near Hima (protected grazing land), who could soon enter the forbidden area, and Allah's protected area is what He has declared forbidden.”

People often say goodbyes to their loved ones, families, relatives and friends. But how often do people say goodbye to their favorite food or drinks, singers or actors, idols, sport or games, outfit, habits and social gatherings? Not very often. Because our minds have been "poisoned" with the food we ate, the carbonated drinks we sipped, the singers and idols we exalted, the actors we jacked so high up, the sports and games we played even when Allah is calling (azan) and the undoubtedly unlawful friendly environment we all involved in.

Usually, that is how neglectful, ignorant, naive and stubborn humans can be and they will continue to sail over the rough seas in their shameless dingy vessel until death becomes of them or when they are encountered with something remorsefully tragic or when Allah's guidance sinks in. (read between the lines).

Enough!! I DON'T want to listen to this ####!!
If you want to preach, got the mosque, I'm sure there will be someone there will be glad to listen to your poems!!!

That is our nafs (lust) shouting. Since our mind and body has been poisoned, it often fights back and will try to be more defensive towards the truth (the reality of things). Naturally, we like to hear what our nafs is whispering. Little did we know what our nafs works hand in hand with satan and these two will try to deject the little solemn voice that says, "hmm..this isn't right, I shouldn't even be here" or "hmm..is this halal..should we just leave?" or "[pause]...I think Allah's wrath will come running if I do this".

I just can't help it, the temptation is TOO strong and besides, everyone else is eating/doing it, so why can't I!?

Sad but true, muslims themselves are overwhelmed by this overpowering force that caused us to be caught in many situations where "if you're not in it, then you're just out of date" or "you're such an anti-social person, I don't wanna befriend you anymore". Even with the little knowledge that we have and the environment we are in, can we really blame ourselves for our won actions and behaviors? Despite that we are all trapped...

Is it over...? I REALLY wish there was something I can do to change the way I am..I REALLY DO.. *sad*

Changing isn't easy. It takes a lot of patience & willpower. Our mindset needs to be clear as well, and at the back of our mind, we need to be confident that Allah is with us (as He always is), He is with those who are willing to help themselves and with those who cleanse themselves for the better and believe that there is life after death and those who does good for His sake will be returned to paradise for eternity and those who does evil will also be "rewarded" and have fiery flames as their roof, their walls and their floors.

The first thing is to
tune back our mind to channel Islam. We need to make sure that all we do is in accordance with the principles and laws of Allah. We need to reject SLOWLY the things we are unsure of, the things we have made us lost and the things which have made us once ungrateful servants of God. We need to filter our the negativities and bring in the history of pioneers of Islam. And we need to make Prophet Muhammad as the person we look up to. Not some swanky beat down celebs. It needs to be clear because we want to go straight this time, not left or right. Also, we sure don't want our lust to take over our mind and corrupt THE PLAN.

The second thing is to change our eating habits because food provides the necessary proteins and energy to our body. If we don't eat, our body gets weak (just as people in Palestine, may Allah save them all) and moody. And when our body is weak, our mind can't think straight. Great care needs to be taken here. Based from hadeeth mentioned earlier, what is haram is clear and what is "in between", is better avoided. They are the things which are unsure of. Humans will naturally tricked into believing that whenever there's a label "HALAL", its halal. Well, not necessarily. We need to look at the companies and pepole who makes them and as we all know, most multinational producers are owned by jews. They are owners of MAGGI (nestle), MILO, COKE, MIRINDA, Marks & Spencer, Self-fridge, kitkat, cadbury and many more [the lists can be gotten here. These are the kind of food we need to avoid not because we need to but we HAVE TO.

We also need to avoid restaurants which have non-muslims as their cook / chef, non-muslims as the bosses (managers) and "so-called-muslims" as their waitresses. Why? Because Allah only accepts what is pure. Based from the hadeeth:

“Verily Allah the Exalted is pure. He does not accept but that which is pure. Allah commands the believers with what He commanded the Messengers. Allah the Almighty has said: "O you Messengers! Eat of the good things and act righteously" [23:51-53]. And Allah the Almighty also said: "O you who believe! Eat of the good things that We have provided you with" [2:167-172]. Then he (the Prophet) mentioned (the case of) the man who, having journeyed far, is disheveled and dusty and who stretches out his hands to the sky (saying): "O Lord! O Lord!" (while) his food was unlawful, his drink was unlawful, his clothing was unlawful, and he is nourished with unlawful things, so how can he be answered?”

The third component that we need to take care of is our soul. Just like our body, our soul needs to be fed as well. We need to feed our soul with a lot of readings and remembrance of Allah. We can read books written by great muslim scholars as well as non-muslim once, just as long as its beneficial to the development and progression of Islam. But the most important that we all should read is The Qu'ran (Kitabullah) and the Prophet Hadeeths [just be sure its sohih (genuine)]. This way our soul will be enriched and nourished. That way, we would be somewhat better than the rest (but not to be proud) and complete.

"O Ka’b b. Ujrah, no flesh which was nourished on ill-gotten gains will enter Paradise, as the Hellfire is more deserving of it.” (Related by Ahmad)

So, when are you going to say YOUR goodbyes?

Bumi sebagai Kenderaan

Wahai manusia!

1. Pendapat Imam As-Syafi’i rahimahullah.

(As-Subuki, TAKMILATUL MAJMU’ Syarah MUHADZAB, juz X, hal. 426).
(menggantikan shalatnya mayit, maksudnya menggantikan shalat yang ditinggalkan almarhum semasa hidupnya -pen).

2. Al-Haitami didalam Kitabnya, AL-FATAWA AL-KUBRA AL-FIGHIYAH, mengatakan demikian.

(Tepi AL-UM, AS-SYAFI’I, juz 7, hal.262).

That was fun

In the name of Allah, The Most Richest, The Most Forgiving. May Allah bless our beloved Prophet, his family, his companions and all those who sacrifice their time, money & sweat only for Allah's sake. We all will return to Him one day and all hidden agendas will suffice, all disguise will be unveiled and each cent will be accounted for.

Life on earth as we all know is a playground, a place where toddlers learn how to walk, to run or to jump. It is a place where we can temporarily enjoy what Allah had created for us. Unfortunately sometimes, majority of us (including muslims, let alone non-muslims) are having too much fun until we forget the real purpose on earth. We forget our purpose, our objective, the ULTIMATE reason why we are here. But really...can one have too much fun? The great calamity!!

Islam has taught its followers to do everything in moderation. That is how everything should be. In balance as opposed to imbalance. Weird how this world was seen as flat, weird how humans were said to have evolved from monkeys and weirder how people are easily get their ear red when their ego is challenged. If one knew how to find moderation in controlling emotions, everything will surpass. The question now is...do YOU know your purpose on earth
?

Overdose...

Sometimes blaming other people for our mistakes, errors, carelessness & stupidity just isn't morally correct [ethical]. But somehow it is seen as normal in a community where killers, rapists, time wasters, drug addicts, burglars, roam the busy roads, dark alleys and empty rooms. We live in a world where each and everyone of us carry responsibilities. Just as we will be during hereafter. Humans are typically irresponsible for their words and actions.

Pointing fingers, taking a fall, fault shifters or finding whose to blame are some of the reasons why humans can never develop and mature. Its never a good sign to find out that our friend blamed us for his mistakes. This happens everywhere. Like in accident. Who do we blame for a death of an innocent pedestrian or who do we point fingers to when a life is lost? Do we blame the car driver, do we blame the passenger for being to noisy or talkative or do we blame the authority for not putting sufficient road lights? The lists go on and there will be no stopping until someone will actually admit that its his or her fault why it all happened.

Our beloved Prophet was a perfect man who had everything under controlled. His enemies tried to device countless ways to deviate him or make him angry and history had witnessed heedless attempts to kill him. But instead of being killed, he maintained his composure and stay well above head when his loyal companions were up their knees to make some menace.

Prophet Muhammad had a female jew as a neighbour. One day, this woman made roasted lamb for The Apostle. Willingly, the Prophet accepted the dish and decided to eat it with some of his companions which were present at that time. Just when the Prophet was about to eat the lamb, the lamb suddenly spoke to the Prophet and said that the lamb was poisoned. One of his companion died not long after he ate the lamb. The prophet put down the lamb and asked one of his companions to summon the female jew. The Prophet then asked why did she do such a thing. The jew then answered, if you were not the genuine Prophet, you would have been killed just like your companion and that if you are a real Prophet, you will be protected by Allah and be given specialties. After that, the jew proclaimed her shahadah (there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His messenger) and converted to islam.

A perfect strategy. The demonstration showed by Prophet Muhammad is what MADE islam great and that is why so many non-muslims were very keen in converting to Islam. Islam in the PAST HAD everything under its wing. We controlled the economy, finance, politics, science and so on. We had everything...Islam were at its peak. We were followed and copycat (ed). Its all gone now due to our own mistakes, poor judgements, little devotion to Allah, little reliance on the Qur'an and hadeeth. Instead of being followed, majority of muslims are now followers. We are like a piece of drawing canvas, we lay there and just wait for our time to be drawn and left to be hanged dry...

Arsenal

Arsenal Football Club has just signed (26th February) a sponsorship deal to promote Israel as a tourist destination.

The £350,000 agreement makes Israel Arsenal's "official and exclusive travel destination." Israel will be featured on digital perimeter boards and 450 high-definition LCD screens at the stadium on game days.[1] The tourism ministry will also have access to the club's official website Arsenal.com, database and magazine to promote Israel as a holiday destination [2]

The televised ads will reach audiences of up to 700 million in an estimated 198 countries. The Israeli Tourism Ministry will also receive intellectual property rights, the use of the team logo and the right to use photos of the team and its players in ads. For an additional fee, Arsenal players will also appear in the ads.[3]

The deal doesn't stop with promoting Israel but actually grants Israel a physical presence in the stadium. The Israeli Tourism Ministry can use the stadium's banquet hall twice a year and can organize an exhibition at the end of the playing season.[3] The stadium will also feature permanent sales tables for t-shirts.[4]

The two-year sponsorship deal begins at the start of next football season in six months' time.

With the world boycotting Israel as a tourist destination Israeli tourism minister Abraham Hirchson admitted employing Ernst & Young financial advisers to help develop a new strategy to entice people to Israel. He estimated that the sponsorship deal will bring in an additional 2 million tourist to Israel annually.[3]

Arsenal's managing director, Keith Edelman at a press conference in Israel explained how Arsenal could help sell apartheid Israel: "We are the largest club in London and have 30 million fans around the world. We are in the forefront of the anti-racism campaign in England and have an excellent brand that can promote any product... we will assist Israel become a more popular destination". He also promised "when we find the time, club representatives and players will come to visit Israel,".[3]

The Jerusalem Post has hinted that Arsenal's chief shareholder, Danny Fiszman, vice chairman David Dein and managing director Edelman have used their Jewish backgrounds to steer the club towards Israeli causes including setting up football academies in Israel [3] at a time when when Palestinian children are routinely targeted by israeli snipers whilst they play football.[5]

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz confirmed this, quoting Uzi Gafni, a director of the Israeli Tourism ministry on the Arsenal deal as saying "I knew I needed someone with ties to Judaism, Edelman may not go to synagogue every Friday, but there are warm Jews at Arsenal who wanted to give something to Israel.".[6]

Phatetic Youth

Thank you for the baggy pants that mopped our floors
Make sure don't leave a spot coz that'd be loss
You may think you're different but you're just the same
One in a million, more like nine tenth..

You are trying to hard to impress, what a mess
Wearing all that same shirt until it smells..yeesh
You spray it with a bottle of cheap perfume until
You feel dizzy from smelling your own stench

You're like a child kid, easily fascinated
Easily lured into the damaging culture of the tiny west
if you think they control what is here then
You must wait and see how will they react Then

What kind of world we live
Our kids playing with fire
But they don't know what comes after that

I don't need your lavish lifestyles to destroy our place
I don't need your addiction towards foolishness
You are poorest of poor coz not only
you've no money but you haven't got a price tag on

If someone dares to prove me wrong
Please do so coz I would bet but I don't
coz it's wrong so I won't but do go on
And please try to make it short and dont prolong

Your pace is slow, slower than turtles, slower than slugs
The future growth of this nation will be numb
The poor will start wearing shoes
And the rich will buy every inch of the land

Don't look at me like that coz you don't owe me
I don't see you givin' dontions or even alms-giving (zakat)
You despise those who are nice to you
Not because they're actors but they are trying to help you

What kind of world we live
Our kids playing with fire
But they don't know what's the consequence

AIG (Allah is GREAT!)
